The challenges of relocating your business to a new country

Holistic Homeopathy's Agimary Joseph in Bray Park BrisbaneEver wonder what it’s like to relocate your business to a whole new country and start over? Well, have a read of this week’s interview with Holistic Homeopathy’s Agimary Joseph as she shares her story in the Kitchen Bench Business Tales.

Tell us a little about the person behind the business?

I am Agimary, a homeopath from India, with 14 years of experience. A Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B.H.M.S.). I moved to Brisbane five years back with my family of two happy healthy boys and my loving husband Joseph. I am working from home to provide both in-clinic and distant consultations.

And now a little about the business itself?

My place is located in Bray Park in Brisbane, Australia. This Centre is dedicated to provide most modern, expert homeopathic treatments to achieve good health naturally. This centre has an established success rate in providing high standard natural care and support for families.

How did you come up with your business name?

I provide holistic treatment for my clients. For every disease we have to balance the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects. I respect all other natural therapies and modalities, and refer clients whenever necessary to other systems, that makes my clients feel confident about their health issues.

What made you want to begin a WAH business and how did you get started?

I studied B.H.M.S. in India where homeopaths are medically trained like a general practitioner and considered equal to them. I practiced homoeopathy in India for 10 years and moved to Australia. Here in Australia, homeopathy is not as popular. I started my practice by renting a place, but I struggled a lot in all aspects, for paying the rent, time, transportation etc.. I could not find enough time to look after my kids. I have been practicing from home for three years now, and am getting enough time and money for my family.

What inspires you to keep your business going?

The smiling face of my clients. The joy and happiness of my clients when they share with me that they are relieved from a chronic pain or sickness. This motivates me a lot.

Do you have a current best-selling product or service? If yes, tell us about it.

Yes, Home remedy kits. Kids Homoeopathy Kits and Emotional Healing Kits are my best selling products. They are custom made and come with a free 30 minutes in-clinic or distant consultation.

How do you advertise your business and which methods have proven more successful?

Through electronic media and my website. Word of mouth is working the best for me. A person will remember the relief he/she got for a complaint forever, and will refer other people.

How do you juggle your family and your WAH business? Any tips for other WAHPs?

Working from home gives me peace of mind and enough time for my family. I love this place and the people.

And finally, what advice would you give to anyone wanting to start a WAH business?

Be professional and organized all the time in work as if you are working in an office under a strict Boss. Hard work will never end in failures.

Do you offer any discounts to Support a WAHP members?

Yes 10% discount for consultation for WAHP members.
